We are happy to let you know that in the context of the upcoming BMCA annual conference “Spinning a BMC^SM Web 2021 – Online Somatic Symposium”, Gloria Desideri will present “Speaking the Unspeakable: The Power of Words in the Embodiment Process”, on Saturday May 15th, in English with consecutive translation in Italian by Caterina Gottardo.

In this presentation, Gloria shares her experience of a project that she conceived in March and developed through November 2020 in collaboration with colleagues Marcella Fanzaga, Caterina Gottardo and Emanuela Passerini.

The second Italian edition of Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen’s book, “Sensing, Feeling, and Action” was released in Italy just a little before the pandemic crisis exploded last year. The project, consisting in a series of online book presentations followed by a group of experiential classes, resulted in a powerful process of learning, community gathering, networking, with the active participation of quite a large new audience of participants becoming involved in the BMC® approach and discovering the embodiment process for the first time.

The practice of reading and writing, speaking words from sensations and feelings, shifting mind states, perceiving weight, time and space in the real and virtual realms: the embodiment process was explored in surprisingly new ways, by both us teachers and the participants, with surprisingly positive results in spite of the limitations of the online medium. With this one hour presentation Gloria wish to give an account of that rich learning process, also offering to the attendees a direct experience of its resources and potentials. 

The presentation will be followed by 15 minutes for comments, sharing and questions from the audience.
