FACULTY

Faculty of the School for Body-Mind Centering® training programs licensed in Italy consists of experienced BMC® Certified Teachers from Italy and other countries contributing with their work to the ongoing research about teaching methodology in BMC®.

The faculty of the IDME Program is coordinated by Gloria Desideri, while the faculty of the SME Program is coordinated by the Kinema Somatica Team (Federica Antonelli, Maria Martinez, Eleonora Parrello, Emanuela Passerini) with supervision of Walburga Glatz.

Gloria Desideri is Certified Teacher/Practitioner of Body-Mind Centering®, Infant Developmental Movement Educator (IDME) and IDME Teacher. Since 2006, she has been directing BMC® training programs in Italy, organized by Leben nuova. Over the years, has trained several generations of BMC® educators and practitioners, promoting networking activities and supporting students and colleagues personally and professionally in applying their BMC® experience in various fields. A Certified Teacher of Kinetic Awareness™ and Practitioner of Somatic Experiencing®, with a background as a professional dancer and choreographer (1977 – 1992), Gloria integrates several somatic and movement practices of the body-mind continuum. She has extensive experience in the field of child development and disability, and in working with adults with post-traumatic stress symptoms. She collaborated with the Public Health Service of Viterbo directing projects aimed at children with severe disabilities, their families and caregivers. In Tuscania she has created CasaNave Alle Mura, a versatile and spacious center that can host a variety of activities.

She is a Certified Teacher of Body-Mind Centering® (BMC®), a registered (by ISMETA) Somatic Movement Therapist and Educa­tor™ and an Infant Developmental Movement Educator™ (IDME™). She has further trainings in Cranio-Sacral-Therapy and Lymphatic Drainage, in different techniques of New Dance, Action Theatre, Butoh, T’ai Chi, and Tango Argentino. Before becoming fully dedicated to BMC® her career was in law with a PhD in Law. She lives in Berlin (Germany), teaches internationally, mainly in BMC® Certification Programs around the world, and is the director of three licensed BMC® and IDME Programs – two in Europe (Slovakia and Spain) and one in South America (Argentina). Thomas Greil is a certified teacher of BMC®️ and a Registered Somatic Movement Therapist (RSMT). He is teaching BMC in certification programs in Europe and the US since 2003, and the co-founder of SOMA, the French licensed organization. His passion for research of movement, touch and body expression has led him to become interested in neuromotor development in infancy, in the ways in which gesture and perception are built in emotional, social, cultural environments of life. His work is particularly dedicated to the accompaniment of families with children with fragilities. He created the project “Making Connections” to support families with children with special needs, including individual sessions for the children as well as for the parents, workshops for parents, professionals and therapists in the field of care. He is currently in training as a JKA practitioner (Jeremy Krauss Approach). Together with Carla Bottiglieri he has founded minima somatica, a nucleus of research and somatic practice, which investigates forms of circulation and sharing of knowledge of the body.

Nina Wehnert is a member of the directing team at moveus, the german licensed School for Body-Mind Centering® Program in Germany. She is a certified Body-Mind Centering® Practitioner and Teacher, a certified Infant Development Movement Educator (IDME), and a graduate of the Yoga and BMC® Program. Based in Savona, Italy and Berlin, Germany, Nina teaches Body-Mind Centering® internationally. She studied Contemporary Dance, taught Yoga extensively for more than 15 years, and has been practicing and teaching Contact Improvisation for over 25 years. Nina offers her own Body-Mind Centering® training programs in Berlin and Genova, Italy, teaches workshops worldwide and intensive courses at Contact Improvisation dance festivals, and is a regular guest teacher in professional dance and yoga training programs. Federica is a Somatic Movement Educator, a Infant Developmental Movement Educator, a BMC® Practitioner/Teacher, and Faculty  in the School for Body-Mind Centering® programs in Italy, Spain, Argentina, and Belgium. A dancer and movement artist, she lives and works in Milan and Brussels and trained in Italy, the United States, and Belgium, specializing in contemporary dance, improvisation, and dance theater. For more than twenty years, she has dedicated herself to teaching, research on movement and psychophysical well-being, and training, integrating somatic practices, dance, art, and education. With a degree in Philosophy, she continues to cultivate a deep interest in pedagogy, intergenerational engagement, and work addressing social and psychophysical vulnerabilities. Through various projects, she collaborates with schools, nursing homes, and associations, also training professionals in the field of perinatal care, early childhood, and special needs. In Brussels, she co-founded the EMOVERE Association—expèriences en mouvement—to create performances for early childhood, promote perinatal care, and develop training programs and intergenerational projects for children, adults, and seniors. She is also a certified instructor of Gyrotonic®, Gyrokinesis®, Pilates, Hatha Vinyasa Yoga, and Body Flying.

Maria Martinez is a Somatic Movement Educator, BMC® Practitioner/Teacher, and Faculty in the School for Body-Mind Centering® Programs, in Italy and abroad. She is also a Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist at the IN Flow Romagna school. With a diploma in Dance and Performing Arts from the University of Amsterdam, a degree in Philosophy, and a specialization in Aesthetics from the University of the Basque Country, she has been dedicated to research, teaching, and training in the fields of dance, somatic practices, and movement for over thirty years. She has collaborated with pioneers in improvisation, somatic research, and contemporary dance, delving deeply into the dances of the East and the Middle East, Eastern philosophies, and energy work. She is a co-founder of the Oriente in Movimento Association, a certified yoga teacher from the Sadhana School, and a graduate of the two-year Daoyin Qi Gong program offered by the Taoyin Italia Association. At the Art Factory in Bologna, she teaches dance and performing arts professionals, and she also teaches at the Centro Natura and Zambra Studio, as well as in various settings throughout Italy and Spain. Her practice integrates embodiment, dance, yoga, and somatic practices, with a particular focus on pathways to well-being, body awareness, and personal development. Since 2023, she has been collaborating with the Recovery College for Mental Health, offering programs dedicated to well-being through movement.

Eleonora Parrello is a Somatic Movement Educator, an Infant Developmental Movement Educator, a BMC® Practitioner/Teacher, and Faculty in the School for Body-Mind Centering®️ programs, in Italy and abroad. For more than twenty years, she has dedicated herself to research, training, and teaching, integrating somatic practices with art and education, and working on projects aimed at adults, children, and families. In Milan, she co-founded the SomArt association; she teaches at public and private schools, professional dance training programs, and private studios. With a degree in Languages and Social Communications and artistic training in Italy, London, and New York, she has worked with directors and choreographers in dance theater, puppetry for children, and opera, and as a creator of performances in nature. She has completed the Danza Sensibile® training and is a certified Vinyasa Yoga teacher. An expert diver, she is the creator of a project (a marine workshop) that combines somatic practices with aquatic and immersive experiences, alongside the exploration of the Mediterranean marine ecosystem. She practices meditation and is currently training at the SARVA school of the Dhyana Association/Dhyana Lombardia (Psychology, Yoga, and Meditation). www.somart.org.

Emanuela Passerini is a Somatic Movement Educator, a Body-Mind Centering® Practitioner and Teacher, and a Faculty in the School for Body-Mind Centering® Programs, in Italy and abroad. She is the co-founder of Studio Bhumi, a movement research and training center in Milan, and director of the Embodiment of Movement training program, for professionals in the fields of movement, health, education, and the performing arts. For over twenty years, she has dedicated herself to research, teaching, and training, integrating BMC®, experiential anatomy, kinesiology, and movement pedagogy. She teaches Experiential Anatomy, Applied Kinesiology, and Movement Analysis in advanced training programs. A graduate of the Civica Scuola di Animazione Teatrale Pedagogico-Sociale in Milan, she has furthered her studies in dance, physical theater, Shaolin martial arts, and somatic practices. She is a certified instructor of Pilates, Gyrotonic®, and Dainami®, holds a Level 1 certification in the Tomatis® Method, and has been selected for the three-year internal ranking for the position of Professor of Dance Physiotherapy at the National Academy of Dance in Rome. Her work combines anatomical studies, pedagogical sensitivity, and artistic exploration.
