Tuscania Contact Improvisation Workshop
October 10-11, Supercinema, Via Garibaldi 1, Tuscania (Viterbo)
Organized in collaboration with Kinesfera Association
In this workshop we will take time to get as near as possible to the point of BEING MOVEMENT, from where to initiate our individual dance. On this basis, we will then explore – alone, in duets and in groups – our way to grow into DOING MOVEMENT, yet trying to stay in tune with our individual moving self. It is from there that we will relate to our environment, including our dancing partners. ,
By integrating some BMC® principles and techniques, we will go deeper into sensing ourselves and others, sharpening our perception for a subtler response to the movement all around us, thus allowing a playfully improvised dance.
Urs Stauffer started to intensively study Contact Improvisation and Body-Mind Centering® about 25 years ago. Ever since, these two approaches have been informing each other through his own movement research. His most influent teachers have been up to these days Steve Paxton (first met in 1989), Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen (with whom Urs has been studying since 1990), and Anna Halprin. With all three teachers he continues to study. Urs has been working as a movement teacher for more than 20 years, teaching to diverse people in many countries.
Discounted fee for Kinesfera’s members.
