Sparks for special needs

Somatic practices, Art and Creativity for Special Needs

SPARKS has been authorized and financed by the Lifelong Learning Programme of the European Community for 2013 – 2015.

It is a cross-cultural research project based on the collaboration among five organizations, all involved in activities based on somatic education and the BMC approach. All of the partners belong to an international network and have collaborated already for many years. In this project, as an innovative approach to bodily self-awareness and community-based learning, Body-Mind Centering functions as a model and vector for the formal/informal production of knowledge that draw from traditional therapies, neuroscience, developmental psychology and clinical research, as well as body-based practices, dance, performing arts and other creative processes.
